Microsoft Project 2019: Digging Deeper (PRJ2019.2)
Microsoft Project 2019: Digging Deeper is designed specifically to enhance your project management skills, offering an in-depth exploration of advanced features and techniques. Whether you are responsible for overseeing an entire team or managing individual projects, this course provides the knowledge needed to master the tools and functionalities of Microsoft Project 2019.
The course starts with Starting a Project from an Existing Project, Excel Workbook, or SharePoint Task List, where you’ll learn how to review options for starting projects, change save options, and manage time conversion efficiently. Additionally, you’ll explore creating new projects from existing project files to streamline your project initiation process.
You will then move on to Advanced Methods for Managing Tasks and Resources. Here, you’ll gain expertise in managing task dependencies and understand the nuances of elapsed versus actual time settings. This module also covers setting task constraints, splitting and delaying tasks using Gantt chart views, and using the Task Inspector. Exercises will help you analyze critical tasks and understand the critical path, set lag and lead times, analyze task assignments, utilize the Team Planner, share resources from a resource pool, and manage resource availability and pay rates effectively.
The next segment, Managing the Project with Advanced Techniques, focuses on resolving resource overallocations with leveling, amending tasks, and setting additional baselines for more precise project tracking. You’ll also learn to analyze project costs and create comprehensive budgets.
In the Formatting and Customizing Views lesson, you’ll discover how to customize the Gantt chart to suit project needs better, create custom views, apply filters, and use Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) codes for more efficient project structuring and visualization.
The Reporting module guides you through creating and editing visual reports to communicate project progress and outcomes clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
Lastly, the course covers Working with Templates, showing you how to use subprojects within a project and maintain templates using the Organizer. These skills will enable you to standardize project management practices across multiple projects.
By the end of this course, you will be well-versed in advanced project management techniques using Microsoft Project 2019. You’ll be equipped to start projects from various sources, manage tasks and resources efficiently, handle complex project requirements, and utilize advanced features for better project oversight and reporting.
