Toad for Oracle

To use Toad for Oracle effectively, you need to have an Oracle database installed and properly configured on your Windows system. This course does not cover the installation and configuration of Oracle Database. However, if you are interested in setting up your environment, here are the items we installed on the virtual machine, along with the download links and the order in which they should be installed:

1. Oracle Database 21c Express Edition. Download
2. Toad for Oracle. Download

Step-by-Step Guide to Installing Toad for Oracle

1. Visit the Quest website and navigate to the Toad for Oracle product page. Download
2. Choose the edition of Toad you want (Trial, Base, Professional, etc.).
3. Download the installer package compatible with your Windows version.
4. Once the download completes, locate the installer file (typically an .exe file).
5. Double-click the installer file to start the installation process.
6. If prompted by User Account Control (UAC), click Yes to allow the installation.
7. On the Welcome to Toad for Oracle screen, review the benefits of using Toad, and click Next.
8. Read and accept the Software Transaction Agreement by selecting I accept the terms in the Software Transaction Agreement, then click Next.
9. On the Product Selection screen, select the appropriate option and click Next.
10. Select the folder where Toad will be installed, or accept the default location, and click Next.
11. On the Prerequisite Checks screen, ensure all components are marked as Passed.
12. Click Install to begin the installation process.
13. If prompted by User Account Control (UAC), click Yes to allow the installation.
14. The installer will now copy the necessary files to your system.
15. Once the installation completes, click Finish.
